The Diversity Film & Script Showcase recognizes and showcases films and screenplays that feature one of the following: A person of color represented as a Lead Character OR Filmmaker (Director, Writer, or Producer).

FILMS
The Diversity Film Showcase recognizes and showcases narrative and documentary features and shorts (including web episodes) in ALL genres, and provides opportunities for filmmakers to showcase their projects to an ideal audience, get noticed by influencers and industry executives, and promote and monetize their films.

All film entries receive a custom project page on the film showcase website with the film’s teaser/trailer video (or poster art if a teaser/trailer is not available), logline listing, promotional links (such as the film’s website, Facebook page, IMDb profile, etc.), and monetization links (if your film is available for purchase or you are selling tickets to an event, festival or theatrical showing, we will feature the links for your audience – such as iTunes, Amazon, festival or theater ticket sales sites, etc.)

SCRIPTS
The Diversity Script Showcase recognizes and showcases feature screenplays, shorts, and television scripts, and provides opportunities for writers to showcase their projects to development executives, producers, agents, and managers.

All script entries receive a script listing on a custom page of the Film & Script Showcase website. (You may opt out of receiving this benefit on the entry form if you do not wish to make your logline and contact info available.)


SCRIPTS

Accepting feature film screenplays, shorts and TV scripts in all genres. Script must feature either a person of color represented as a lead character or as a writer or co-writer. Each submission entry requires

SCREENPLAY, SHORT or TELEPLAY
Feature screenplays must not exceed 120 pages. Television scripts must not exceed 60 pages. Shorts must not exceed 25 pages.

LOGLINE
A brief description of your script’s story (up to 50 words).

WRITER’S BIO
A Writer’s Bio may include background, resume, accolades, training, experience, as well as any upcoming projects.

FILMS

Accepting narrative and documentary feature films, documentaries, shorts and web series in all genres. Film must feature either a person of color represented as a lead character or filmmaker (director, writer, or producer). Each submission entry requires:

ONLINE SCREENER & PASSWORD
We accept submissions through FilmFreeway, which allows filmmakers to upload their projects directly to the platform or provide a link with a password to the protected video on Vimeo or YouTube. (Rest-assured, the showcase will maintain the privacy of your screener.)

LOGLINE / SYNOPSIS
A brief description of your film or web series (up to 50 words).

DIRECTOR’S BIO & STATEMENT
A Director’s Bio (may include background, resume, accolades, training, experience, as well as any upcoming projects), and a Director’s Statement about the film.

WRITER’S BIO & STATEMENT
A Writer’s Bio (may include background, resume, accolades, training, experience, as well as any upcoming projects), and a Writer’s Statement about the film.

FILM POSTER (OPTIONAL)
If you would like to showcase your film’s artwork on the website, provide the film’s official poster (or alternate image) in JPG format (minimum size: 400×600 pixels).

LINK TO TEASER/TRAILER (OPTIONAL)
If you would like to showcase the film’s teaser/trailer video on the Film Showcase website, include the YouTube link that allows the video to be embedded on other sites.

PROMOTIONAL URLS (OPTIONAL)
If you would like to promote the film or series, build your audience, and/or get noticed by influencers and industry executives, provide the URLs you wish to include on your project page of the Film Showcase website (such as links to: the Film Website, Facebook Page, Production Company Website, IMDb page, etc.)

MONETIZATION URLS (OPTIONAL)
Is your film available to purchase or are you selling tickets to an upcoming festival or theatrical showing? Monetize your project by providing the URLs you wish to include on your project page of the Film Showcase website (such as links to: iTunes, Amazon, Theatrical or Film Festival ticket sales, etc.)

SCRIPT SHOWCASE

A custom project page on the website to showcase your script to development executives, producers, managers and agents. Includes:

  • Logline Listing
  • Writer Bio
  • Contact Email or Website or IMDb Profile Link

You may choose to opt-out of this benefit on the entry form if you do not wish your logline or contact info listed.

FILM SHOWCASE

A custom project page on the website to showcase your film. Includes:

  • Film Teaser/Trailer (or Film Poster if a teaser/trailer is not available).
  • Logline
  • Promotional Links (such as the Film Website, Facebook Page, IMDb, etc.)
  • Monetization Links (such as iTunes, Amazon, Festival or Theatrical ticket sales, etc.)
  • Director Bio & Statement featured on the custom project page of the Film Showcase website.
  • Writer Bio & Statement featured on the custom project page of the Film Showcase website.

WINNERS – SHOWCASE

Winning films and scripts receive

  • “Winner” Recognition Laurel
  • Film or Script listed on the “Winners & Official Selections” page of the website
  • Script Winners: Opportunity to showcase the first 10 pages of your script on a custom project page of the website for development executives, producers, and others to access. (You may opt-out of this award on the entry form if you do not want development executives, producers, and others to have access to your material or contact info).

OFFICIAL SELECTIONS – SHOWCASE

All films and scripts not classified as winners receive

  • An “Official Selection” laurel
  • Film or Script listed on the “Winners & Official Selections” page of the website

SCRIPTS

  • Entrant(s) must be 18 years of age or older.
  • All entries must be in English.
  • All entries must be submitted in PDF format. No exceptions.
  • Submissions are accepted via Film Freeway only.
  • Title Page: Include title and writer’s name. Contact information is optional.
  • Script must feature either a a person of color represented as a Lead Character or Writer or Co-Writer.
  • Scripts must be in standard screenplay format. No exceptions.
  • Both produced and unproduced scripts are eligible.
  • Both represented and non-represented writers are eligible.
  • Teams of writers are eligible.
  • Scripts that have previously won a competition are eligible.
  • Substitutions of corrected pages, revised material, or new drafts, require a new entry and payment.
  • We DO NOT offer deadline extensions.
  • We DO NOT offer fee waivers or discounts.
  • WE DO NOT RESPOND TO REQUESTS FOR FEE WAIVERS, OR DISCOUNTS, OR DEADLINE EXTENSIONS.
  • We DO NOT offer individual feedback on script submissions.
  • All submission payments are final. We do not provide refunds.
  • By submitting a script you confirm that you own the rights to the material submitted.
  • By submitting a script you confirm that you have read and agree to our eligibility and rules. Judges decisions are final.

FILMS

  • Entrant(s) must be 18 years of age or older.
  • We accept feature films up to 135 minutes in length and short films up to 40 minutes in length (including credits).
  • All entries must be in English. If a film is not in English, it must include English language subtitles.
  • Features, Shorts, and Web Series in ALL genres are accepted.
  • Film must feature either a a person of color represented as a Lead Character or Filmmaker (director, writer, or producer).
  • We accept Documentary and Narrative Features, Shorts, and Web Series (including live action and animation).
  • Multiple films are accepted. Each submission requires a separate entry.
  • Films that contain explicit language, violence, and nudity will be accepted. Be sure to indicate if your film contains explicit language, violence, and/or nudity on the entry form.
  • Films that have been produced within the last 5 years are eligible.
  • Films that have previously won a festival are eligible.
  • Films that have distribution are eligible.
  • We DO NOT offer deadline extensions.
  • We DO NOT offer fee waivers or discounts.
  • WE DO NOT RESPOND TO REQUESTS FOR FEE WAIVERS, OR DISCOUNTS, OR DEADLINE EXTENSIONS.
